They did test a bit. They had not been on the trail all winter long, and the friends you see in the video brought them to us that May. The white and gray one, Sassy, had some prior experience on the trail so kind of knew what to expect. The brown one, Choco, had never been on the trail. This was not the way to expose her to it, but having the experience with llamas and knowing the kind of llama Choco was, we all felt she would do well. It did take them both a while to adjust and feel comfortable doing what they were bred to do! A fun day all in all, and they have become quite affectionate animals. They have also been great with the kids and any foster kids we've taken in over the last year. It's been pretty amazing. But, you have to spend a lot of time working with them, training them, and just being around them. They are very social animals and love affection. But, yes, they can be stubborn when they make up their mind on something!
My husband said, Llama's are great if you can get them to do what you want:-) Looks like they tested you a bit.
