Topaz Lake
Took a little side trip a few weeks ago.
Had some friend who had went down to Topaz Lake for the weekend, taking their little R.V. We had other obligations in the morning, but cruised on down for the afternoon.
It was still just a tad bit cool, with the wind blowing(of course). If you live in Nevada, the wind becomes a daily part of your life.
This time of year, there wasn't a lot of campers at the campground.
There were about 5 or so motor homes/ R.V.'s set up around the campground.
If you haven't been down to Topaz Lake, it's worth the drive. Nice clean campground, showers in the restrooms. Close enough to Reno or Carson for a quick trip. It took us about 1 1/2 hours or so to drive
down.
And, from Fernley, it's a nice drive.
Down thru Yerington, follow the Walker River for awhile, thru Mason Valley, than on over to Topaz Lake. It's actually a nice scenic drive.
When we drove thru Mason Valley, just had to stop and take a pic of these sprinklers out in the field. Can you tell it got cold the night before?

Actually, Topaz Lake isn't that secluded at all. It's right off the highway, and not too far from Carson City. We haven't camped there yet, went down to check it out that day. But,it's not that far from where we live, and so am thinking would be a nice week-end trip. I'm sure the peak season would be pretty much all thru summer.
There is a website- Topaz Lake that will tell you more about it, and what all the amenities are.

I like the picture of the sprinkler! Have you camped at Topaz lake before? It looks pretty secluded. Do they have a peak season?
