Tent A/C Units ??

Well I have seen this a couple of times camping, thought it was funny, a tent with a/c what next untill the heat of the day gets to you and then your thinking that guy is pretty smart I have seen little ones that fit in the tent and window units with the back ends sticking out, then it crossed my mind I have a window unit in the garage a couple of dryer hoses 2 little fans for inside the tent of course a lot of duct tape thats southern engineering what do yall think ............ hey if your going to do it do it right :)

Comment by Sandra on June 23, 2009 at 2:26pm: Too funny, a tent with a huge AC unit. Tim Allen's character on Home Improvement would probably add some kind of mega motor to it and make it able to produce freezing temperatures inside.
When it's hot, I just go to the mountains or to the shore to camp. I'm not particularly fond of 90 degree weather at 10 o'clock at night and trying to sleep.
I've done it though, and learned a couple of tricks. Before climbing into -- or rather onto -- my sleeping bag, I take a cool shower or go swimming. Then I wet a towel with cool water, lie down, and put the towel on me. The evaporation cools me down enough to be able to get to sleep.
Not my ideal sort of camping trip, but it can be done.
Air conditioning? Will have to think about that one... Do they make one without a noisy motor? The neighbors might either 1) get upset with the noise, or 2) hear the motor and choose that time to come visit.
