Just returned from an eight day vacation during which time we received news about the lost llama about which I posted a search party needed; she was found! After seven days and fear of finding her dead, perhaps by cougars, possibly bears, she was found in great condition. She did gulp down 4 gallons of water as soon as they caught her, but other than that, packs and gear still attached and she looked healthy and well. It was like finding a needle in a haystack, but knowing the vicinity in which she may have wandered helped a lot. Happy ending to what could be a docudrama. Some history of the Barlow Road helped to make the search more interesting. Barlow Road, now the Barlow Trail, located on Mt. Hood in Oregon, holds a lot of emmigrant history. For any who have known people to climb Mt. Hood, you may find this somewhat interesting.
