I've been camping for as long as I can remember. My parents would load up the 6 of us kids, the dog & a huge canvas tent and take out, sometimes for the weekend, sometimes a week or two. Now my husband and I take our 2 kids and 2 dogs camping whenever we can.

Our favorite place to go is William Tugman state park at the southern end of the Oregon dunes. We go there for a week every year. The kids have already started counting down the days until this years trip. It has the dunes & ocean close by and the park itself has a lake for boating/fishing/swimming.

Other than that we tend to stay in Western Washington and the Cascades for short weekend trips. Our kids are young (5 &7), so setting up late can be a hassle, although they are getting more helpful as they get older.

I'm looking forward to finding more places to camp and sharing with all of you.
