My son Mike, his friend, Cody, and I went camping last weekend at Cool Springs Campground. We had a great time. We set up camp, ate a picnic lunch, then headed off for the skate park about twenty minutes away in Niles, Michigan. The skate park is on the river with a lovely river walk, playground, and more.

Once back at camp, Sam, Gabby, and Miranda came by. The girls were quick to get their suits on and go swimming. The boys hiked the trails while Sam and I got the fire going and headed off for a stroll. The trails are so beautiful and well mantained. Sandhill cranes nest in the wetlands; their songs are beautiful. The trails wind by springs and creeks and through a beautiful Michigan forest.

Once night fell, the kids went to the club house for ping pong and air hockey. No quarters needed there! We all ate a delicious grilled meal and then they were off again, this time to the playground by the campsite.
