I have been away from camping for many years, just started again two years ago. I was never a very seasoned camper anyway, but have learned a lot in the last couple of years. I would like to go camping by myself, but I'm…
All of my camping was alone, however because of a situation, I am not even able to sleep in my car! BTW, it's not WHAT is out there that is the problem, but WHO is out there. I am thankful to have guns, that's all I will say!
Hello Jeff,
Glad to have you on Campersindex and the Alabama group!! I live in Perdido Beach, AL (we just became a town) and lived in Gulf Shores for a few months prior. Yes, Johnson Beach is in Perdido Key, FL and we take our boat down the intercoastal and camp. It's a beautiful place to camp, but no pets or glass allowed. We are allowed campfires which is awesome on the beach. If you do not have a boat, I think you can take the car to the end of Johnson Beach and walk down and camp. We've never done that so I'm not positive. I believe the Reef restaurant is on the corner to the entrance of the park. A plus for us is no entrance fee to the park since we go by boat.
I hope you will be able to do some camping there. It's great especially when there is a full moon.
Cindy
