Yolanda, I forgot to mention when you do the crabs, they have to be live and be very careful how you hold them while cleaning or you will be bitten by the claws. I didn't know if you knew that or if your daughter had ever dealt with crabs before. You must be careful while handling live crabs. Good luck!!

We have been swamped lately and I can't seem to corner him about the recipe. I will try to write it out myself for you.

Remove backs from the crab and clean well.
Boil in a mixture of water, old bay seasoning, a little salt, sliced lemon, a little garlic powder, and a little vinegar (cider or white) and you can also put a boil-n-bag season mix for crab. It depends on the size as to how long to cook them. We cooked them too long this weekend and they got mushy so I would say about 10 minutes or longer for large size. We cooked red potatoes, onion, corn on the cob in the seasoned water as well to make a complete meal. This is something you just have to play around with till you get it right. Ours is no set recipe. Of course, the potatoes take the longest so put them first.

I hope this helps and she is able to enjoy what we feel is our favorite meal.

My husband's dad was a urologist. His name was Dr. H. R. Owen. He passed away in '91. Your family my have known him if they have lived in Gadsden for a very long time. We used to go to Guntersville to eat catfish and since my husband grew up in Gadsden, he spent a lot of time around Guntersville and Boaz. He has an aunt and uncle in Boaz.
You may know Dr. Tom Corley who is their son who has a practice in Gadsden.
We haven't really spent any time in the area since Michael's mom passed away in '04. We considered moving there at one point, but I'm glad we live on the coast now.

Yolanda, I'll get back with you. My husband generally cleans and cooks the crab and he's at work. I know before we bring it home after it is caught, he breaks off the back and cleans all the yuck out. I don't like all the much so he spoils me that way. it IS eaiser to eat that wey.
