Just Spend the weekend a the Jellystone Park at Canyon Lake, It was a great Family Place with plenty of Kids activities, and close to River rafting and great lake activities. Best Park besides a State park I have visited yet.

Speaking of float trips....I love to camp at Guadalupe River State Park. You can tube from Canyon Lake. You avoid a lot of drunk college crowd by not going through New Braunsfels. Also, South Llano has beautiful tubing. Then there's Garner…

We have enjoyed many of the State parks on the beaten Path here in central Texas, (i.e. Enchanted Rock, Pedernales Falls, Garner State Park, and Bastrop State park are all great for geocaching, especially for folks new to the activity.

Pedernales Falls is nice, been there 3 or 4 times, Geocaching is good in this park, only issue with the hike in spots is it is a 2 mile round trip to potable Water, Could always boil, but who wants to haul the fuel

Profile Information

How many times a year / days a year do you go camping?
12-14
Consider myself a good camper,
Eagle Scout, Army Veteran, Family kinda guy, I do everything from backpack in for up to 20 miles, to haul the RV to a full hook up site.
We go alot, my wife likes it as I do all the camp cooking.
I'm intrested in finding more central Texas Float trips if possible. Besides the one through Gruene

Welcome to CampersIndex!

I just joined, just like you! Apparently we are the site's first members. I added an application -- "Status" -- so that we can all write general short messages to the group, kind of like Twitter. So far, I haven’t got mine to work, but I’m sure it will be fixed.

If you want to add it too, look under "Add Applications" on your "My Page" right under your photo, then add the application "Status" (should be on the second page).

Some of us are also adding the “ParaChat” app so we can talk in real time. It's on page 6 of the applications.

Myself, I added the “Friend Map” so that I can easily see who lives close to me to go camping!

Let me know if you add anything else. I'd like to know the group-type applications others add.

Be sure to check out the groups by state or interest and join any that interest you. Also, please feel free to start any group you want, including a new state group.

Glad to see you here!
