Lee Vinning Creek in Spring
This beautiful creek flows from the mountains above Tioga Pass down the steep canyon into Mono Lake. This spot is only a half mile from the eastern entrance to Yosemite N.P.

Hey Sandra, I would be happy to show you how to fish, being a long-time, advid fisherman myself. But will have to wait to later. Maybe this coming spring on the Kern. Perhaps during a springtime camping trip in that area? Cheers

Hey Sandra! This Death Valley trip sounds great! I like the idea of November myself. I can't do Halloween weekend, though that sounds great too.

Ya, I'm hoping to bring my gal, Crissee, that weekend, Russ. But it may end up being just me. How many peeps are you bringing Russ?
I am planning my first backpacking trip of the year for somewhere in the Eastern Sierra, 1st or 2nd weekend in August.

It's a beautiful place, Adele! I highly recommend this trail to you guys. So many pretty lake and amazing peaks around them.

Wow - Idaho!!! Super cool! We really should get together & go camping before you leave! I'd be disappointed if you moved clear to Idaho and we had never met, never camped out together. :( I know other people in the California group would probably feel the same.
So what is your schedule like this summer? Up for some car camping somewhere nice? Maybe in between us somewhere? (I live in Bakersfield.)
No group campouts are scheduled as of now, but perhaps we could turn this into one!
I bought a new camera (having somehow broken two in two years). It's a Kodak Z981 - a $300 camera I got for $200 but only had to pay $50 'cause they gave me a refund on my broken one (which was only 8 months old).
It's not me - really - that breaks cameras lol. One broke taking pix on the beach (sand) I think, and the other accidentally got water in it that leaked clear through the camera case.
Still lusting after a Nikon...

Yes, I love to snowshoe. It was sad having to put away the poles and shoes, but now I'm in the camping/hiking mode. Thanks for the comments on the photos. The awesome sunset is at Edison Lake. It's at the end of the road up Kaiser Pass. Tons of backpacking trails take off from here. The snowshoe pic is at Badger Pass in Yosemite.
