To Three Rivers and Kernville
We started up the 5 freeway out of Orange County for parts north and for those that tow a trailer if you don't have a great hitch, get a Equal-i-zer it was great did not even notice a simi passing me at all on the freeway. It took about 4 and 1/2 hours to get to Three Rivers with a stop for breakfast and a fruit stand. The campground was very good. We got settled in at a nice shaded spot and set up. I love to go camping
I love to go camping and explore new places and camp with friends, my wife is still new to camping. She grew up in Hong Kong as a kid and camping was not something she had heard of. I grew up in Rhode Island and was camping at age 10. When we meet about 6 years ago I had a tent trailer and after a couple of years of using that we got married and moved up to our travel trailer. She finds camping that way more enjoyable and if it helps here to enjoy it its ok with me. Now I just want to go go go as often as I can get the time. My youngest son 23 now just got married in July and about three weeks ago got his first tent trailer. So with that I hope to have them join us now and then when we go. My other son is soon to get married (I think) and there is room in the other son's trailer for them too. Ya way to go!!!!

My friends, Well with sadness I must say my trailer was totaled the other day by the ins. Co from a near miss on the freeway and we did some bouncing and bent the frame of the trailer, so now I sit waiting for a check from the ins. co to buy a new to me trailer (used) and get back to camping soon.
New question about Yellowstone Park

My friends you have helped in the past so I am here to ask a question again about Yellowstone Park. Has anyone Stayed in Grizzly RV Park and Cabins? Its on the western side in MT? I have to try to make reservations soon for Sept. I was looking for anyones in put on the rv park there.

For those that have been to Yellowstone NP, I have a question for you about bears. I have a TT and want to know in your trips have you had any problems with Bears? I am planning a trip for this coming summer and I know if a bear wants in my TT will not stop them so what have you done? Are the campgrounds outside the park any safer? I would plan to cook out side but smells do linger so I wonder what to do or plan for. Any help or ideas would be nice.
Nice ride and campground

Well I am back from my trip to "Woods Valley Kampground" in Valley Center near Escondido, CA. If you read my last blog you know that I upgraded from a Jeep Cherokee to a Ford F-150 and for that reason I said nice ride. The new truck had a bit more power and is set up for towing and with the longer wheel base it sure made a difference on the road.

June Malone said… - Best advice I could give you for Yellowstone -- give yourself four or five days -- stay in different sections of the Park -- a night in the Geyser Basin area, a night in the northern part of the park -- by the hot springs -- a night near the "Grand Canyon" of Yellowstone -- and take lots of photos. - It's strange to think of -- to grow up in Hong Kong and not even know what camping is. I never really thought about it, but I'm sure there are plenty of people (outside the US mainly) that have no idea what camping is. What a shame. It's great that you are introducing her to the wild outdoors.
