Hey Missy how are you? I havent been on in a while. Were have you went camping so far since last time we spoke? I went to Lake perris for labor day my father wanted us to stay on his new pop tent he bought not new but he just bought it :) It was hot as hell man I dont want to do that again I would perfer northern california camping lol lol

Take a look at some of Brenda Lance's recent photos on a backpacking trip using llamas (in Washington State). That's one of the appeals of backpacking -- getting to see things like that, that you can't see unless you backpack to them.

Hi Salimah, thanks for the comment! Yes solo! it is a bit different then car camping which I do alot of. I am getting ready to do a trip to NC with Young Life as a guide. We have one night with kids in which we do a "solo" night. Each of us will spend the night "alone" . It was different but if you are in somewhat familiar territory, it is just a matter of getting past the "alone" part. I got prepared by beginning to sleep in my own tent away from the main tent where my friends were when we car camped. I found a place that was comfortable and familiar. I had camped...primitive...there with friends in January, and so I picked the same primitive campsite. It was really fun and oddly relaxing. I hope you can get some friends to go primitive camping with you and then you can work up to doing a solo. You can do a solo at a campground as well. just leave your friends at home. or meet them there the next day. I hope it works for you. Tracey

I belong to a backpacking group called Arizona Backpacking Club. This was our listed hike I signed up for to go on June 11. I don;t know much but we are staying the night in a hotel in Palm Springs and then getting up and taking a tram part way up and then spending 2 nights up there.
