- Not sure if sun block is a good option. Now tell us where to get a nose hat that he won't chew up. We have a Pointer/Jack Russell mix, too. When he was real young he had a rash on his belly. Living in the pine woods the local vet, 30 miles away, isn't open on wekends & since it wasn't an emergency we decided to put calamine lotion on it. He licked it off & his face swelled up. He looked like Snoopy. Lucky for us he was still breathing fine. A week later we read you can give dogs Benedril. Now when ever we think the dogs have an allergy to something I give them a Ben

- Snowball is an Albino Husky. Blue eyes & pink nose. Have been told that we have to watch for skin cancer on his nose. I guess the pink is the reason why. We got him an an animal shelter in the Chicago area 9 years ago. They said he was at least 1 year old at that time. He is a great dog w/ people & small animals but likes to eat plastic & will pace at the end of his leash till there is no grass left. Was told that is the wolf side in him.

Matchless fires

Not only do I start fires using flint and steel, bow and drill, and magnifying glass, but I also use a drop of water as a source of ignition. It is the same principle as using a magnifying glass, only you balance a single drop of water between two pine needles or blades of grass, with a steady hand, and focus the light through the water as you would a magnifying glass, ocular lens, soda bottle bottom, etc.
