- Yes, I think the rafting trip was from that trailhead. Mules packed everything down in there, including the rafts. Excellent trip.
Actually, I bought my first rod and reel this spring. I want to learn, and I think Kern River would be a good place to start, even if I don't get anything.
I've primitive-camped along the Kern above Kernville and have seen people fishing up there. Might be too hot to camp there now, tho. I might just go up and fish the lower Kern someday, don't know. This summer is stacking up to be pretty busy for me so far.
