Just tried out Larabee State Park up by Bellingham this month. Had a great time!! Very pretty campgroud with beach access. Small hike down to beach. Campsites appeared to be larger then other state parks. Boat launch is just a couple streets down.…

One thing Washington is lacking is Theme parks for the Kids, and very nice resorts. You would think that Seattle would have the best RV Resorts. Lake Pleasant is about the best we have been able to find close to seattle and they are mediocre at…

Our family does not do resort camping and prefer the national parks or the state parks that tend to be out of the path of traffic. We've camped most of our lives and find that a lot of places in Washington do not take reservations. Many are…

Tugman State Park

Posted on July 15, 2009 at 7:16pm 0 Comments

We just got back from our annual camping trip to Tugman State Park in Oregon. It rained 3 of the nights, but we stayed pretty dry. We had to put the tent up when we got home to dry it out though. :) We went canoeing for the first time this year the kids had a blast, the dogs didn't care for it too much but they started to get used to it. We also did part of a trail that goes around the lake, made it about 2 miles in & then turned around & went back. I was very impressed with how well my… Continue

Belfair State Park

Posted on May 11, 2009 at 12:04pm 0 Comments

We just spent the weekend with the in-laws who live near Belfair, WA. We didn't camp this weekend, but spent mother's day over at the state park. I didn't realize how nice the campground was there. I think we will be going back in about a month with our camping gear this time!

I've been camping for as long as I can remember. My parents would load up the 6 of us kids, the dog & a huge canvas tent and take out, sometimes for the weekend, sometimes a week or two. Now my husband and I take our 2 kids and 2 dogs camping whenever we can.

Our favorite place to go is William Tugman state park at the southern end of the Oregon dunes. We go there for a week every year. The kids have already started counting down the days until this years trip. It has the dunes… Continue

Thank you. I cant believe I didnt find this site til now. It's so awesome. Yes we like to hit the road whenever possible too but we also have to have a little prep time, like24 to 48 hrs. We also have 2 kids, 11 & 15 so a little easy to do on a pick up and go type of thing. This is so great!

We were at Ike Kinswa State park with a view from the screen room of Mayfield Lake about 1 1/2 hrs from our house. It is very nice and wooded and some of the best fishing/swiming/boating it is a blast there we go offten.

Belfair State park is an awesome park. We live in Port Orchard and also have stayed at Manchester State Park just 10 minutes from our house. You might want to check it out also.

Well, it looks beautiful so I am not surprised it is gaining in popularity. We have been wanting to "do" the Oregon coast and came close this year but the flights were just so much more expensive to Portland than to Seattle. So we decided to do Vancouver Island insttead this September. But, I will make it there one of these days!!

Where is Tugman? That campground looks really nice. And I love the dog tent and little bags!! You are as bad as me. The worst thing about my traveling to camp is that we fly and can't take the dogs. Your heeler must like Somores!!

Where is your page photo taken? My sister, her daughter and grandson and I were thinking about doing Oregon this year, including the dunes, but the flights are so much more than other places. But we are going to do Vancouver Island this fall, again flying into Seattle.

Welcome to CampersIndex!

I just joined, just like you! Apparently we are the site's first members. I added an application -- "Status" -- so that we can all write general short messages to the group, kind of like Twitter. So far, I haven’t got mine to work, but I’m sure it will be fixed.

If you want to add it too, look under "Add Applications" on your "My Page" right under your photo, then add the application "Status" (should be on the second page).

Some of us are also adding the “ParaChat” app so we can talk in real time. It's on page 6 of the applications.

Myself, I added the “Friend Map” so that I can easily see who lives close to me to go camping!

Let me know if you add anything else. I'd like to know the group-type applications others add.

Be sure to check out the groups by state or interest and join any that interest you. Also, please feel free to start any group you want, including a new state group.

Glad to see you here!
