Mammoth Caves!  How I'd love to see that.  I've been to Carlsbad Caverns in NM, but never to Mammoth Caves.  When are you going?  I have plans to go to Kentucky in April & hope to get over to the caves.

I have actually camped at RI State Park many years ago. There are several great camping places up and down the Tennessee River between Chattanooga and Knoxville. If you go into Chattanooga, take Hwy. 58 north. Follow it and you should drive past several different camp sites. Have fun. I love that part of the state. If you cross over into north Georgia, there are also lots of campsites along the Chattahoochie River.

We didn't do much camping last year. Went to Daisy State Park for about a week. Camped right on the lake. It is 12 miles from home. The Crater of Diamonds is closer. Even though we live so close we have been to it once & that was before we moved here. They have a nice campground w/ a laundry, a wadeing pool, nice hiking trail (1/2 of it was concrete last time we were on it), fishing in the Little Missouri River (if licensed), & of course, diamond hunting. I just can't bring myself to pay $6-$7/day to go out in a field & dig. Especially when the temps are over 100* in the summer. So how close is Cane Creek S.P. from you?
