There were several beaches that had sea turtles. The one in the picture was near Kona. It's a marine sanctuary and an excellent place to go snorkeling. The other two places were on the Hilo side. One of them was a sea turtle research station. The sand was black with lots of stones. The other was for surfing. I was visiting my friend so she knew all the cool places to go.

Just curious...where on the island were you? Do you remember the beach? Were you on a tour? I just think it's incredible that you had sea turtles swimming all around you. I've heard of people swimming with dolphins, but never sea turtles.
