Thats what our gps said also, but on the maps it looked like 2.7 so I'll go with 3.5 too.

I am guestimating :-)
It is a slow going hike so I know it seems longer than it really is.
My GPS said closer to 3.5 though.

How did you come up with 3.5? We could not agree as we had 2 conflicting dstances. 1 was 7 mile round trip and one was 2.7 to the trestle from the Motero wash campsite. I would like to know for sure. It felt like a whole lot more then 7 miles,,,
