Someone once told me that the reason he liked to camp in the fall and winter was that everything that can bite or annoy you is either in hibernation or dead.
Yes, no mosquitoes and no poison ivy. No flies and no gnats. The under brush is gone which makes looking for firewood much easier. The leaves are off the trees, so the star gazing is much better and the parks have fewer visitors. The views in the woods are better. That is what I enjoy winter camping.
