Connecticut is a bit far for me, but I do hope one day hit the road and visit as many places as I could with my husband such as Kettletown. I was looking at the pictures and for sure is a nice place to visit. That is one of my plans for the future, now I have a new place on my list. Thank you.

Hi Wanda, I was just admiring your photos and thinking how very much they look like photos I took from the campground at Kettletown State Park in Southbury, CT. It is situated along the Housatonic River, very pretty.

Well Fall is here and so far, I am enjoying the weather. My family and I just visited Broken Bow in Oklahoma, and although the park is a bit old, the view, the weather, and place were amazing. My kids had a great time at the train and enjoyed the playground while my love was watching the baseball game!! I was able to enjoy the foggy mornings and breeze nights. I am now looking forward to another trip sometime in Thanksgiving, maybe heading to Lake Murray instead.

I bought a Big Agnes sleeping bag last year and have been very pleased with it. It has a sleeve on the backside into which you put an insulated sleeping pad/inflatable air mattress.
The 15°Big Agnes gives me a little more room than my old reliable mummy 0°bag and is, I think, warmer. Love it.

Well I went out this weekend, it was rather cool at night, low 30's. Great time to test my new Gander Mountain Split Rock Zero degree rated sleeping bag. Well, the sleeping bag didn't live up to its billing. I got cold in the middle of the night. Thankfully, I always keep a wool blanket nearby. After I got home this afternoon I ran to Gander Mountain and took the sleeping bag back and got a refund. So, the next time out and it is cold, I'll use that old army mummy sleeping bag I have.

No, but I should have, cause I paid $100 at Gander Mountain

You didn't happen to be at the Coleman factory sale today were you? I bought a zero degree for $29.00 for the wife today.

Bought a new winter sleeping bag today with a rating for 0 degrees. Also got a new self inflating mat for my small tent. Almost set for winter camping. Hopefully, we won't get tons of snow and super sub zero temps right off the bat like we did last year. Who knows I may need to plan a trip a little further south this winter, but someplace where it will still be winter.

The Tech Blanket from Thermarest is a great piece of gear when it comes to hammock camping. The system was meant for the ground but it works great in a hammo...
