I think thats it off the top of my head. This is what I would take just to get to my bugout location.
And no, this is not a wish list. I own everything listed and plenty more. I live only 30 minutes from my bugout location which is already set-up for five people to last a month without hunting. You know, for when the zombies come.

Anthony -- yours is one of the best lists I've seen - probably because you've obviously thought it out and purchased what you need already. Did I miss a water purification system? What about some duct tape? Can't think of a whole lot more... Is this for a 3-day or 1-day sojourn and for how many people?
Anyone ever read "Six Ways In and Twelve Ways Out"? http://www.usrsog.org/manu.htm -- or heard of this organization -- http://www.usrsog.org/about.htm? They have an interesting page on various kits, too, that I thought interesting although a bit incomplete (http://www.usrsog.org/equip.htm). Any thoughts?

Actually this is just what I would use for trip to my base camp in the mountains. There is 3 liters of water in the camelbak. I do also have water purification tablets as well as few other things like duct tape, a small fishing kit, fire steel, TP, motrin and some other stuff. Once i'm in the base camp which we call Camp Tequila, I have everything needed for me, my family and a buddy. Including Tequila. This also includes 6000 rounds of ammunition to keep the zombies at bay. My son has about the same set-up. My wife and daughter have lighter versions with smaller weapons. By buddy has his own gear as well. Whats nice is most of this stuff doubles as camping gear. We always shoot when we camp.
Thats a great site. I was not familiar with it. I've already started reading it. Thanks.

Sealed bottles of water? Is this store-bought, you mean? Or just with a cap? And why sealed? I have re-filled gallon water containers and am keeping them for in-house emergency water. Remember to refresh the water every six months or less.
My survival gear goes from "pocket to Pantry". Each level is progressively more substantial with more variety. My pocket kit will get me through two or three days while my pantry will provide for more than a year. I have three back packs prepared and ready to go depending on the scenario along with the prepositioned gear in my three vehicles.
Yup, me too. Getting all the various-sized survival BOB's put together seems to be an on-going job for me, 'cause I always seem to find something better, something lighter, something sharper...

I don't think a lot of people think about having photos of family, ID documents (birth certificate copy, drivers' license copy), and other essential "paper" items & documents in their BOB.  One thing you didn't mention (but I'm sure you have Russ) is a good radio.  I have one that runs on batteries, a hand crank, and solar power if needed.  It has AM/FM, weather bands, and CB wave lengths.

AM is probably the most important - plus the weather radio.  I have a separate weather radio that works a bit better than the one on my "survival" radio & always take it with me camping.  I'm usually the only one in any campground with one, so it does attract curious weather-reports seekers.

I have so much stuff after a couple of years of slowly gathering BOB items - but much, much more to go - a firearm, bow, and/or slingshot being just a few on my list.

I have to get re-organized though.  I have one main BOB but need a smaller BOB that stays in my vehicle at all times!  Plus maybe something even smaller for my wallet, keychain, or purse.  It's so easy to put it off.  Must stop that!
