Hi Lon, I just wanted to check in and find out how things were going with your Roaring River Resort.  Also, have you been able to do any work on your vintage camper?

I can imagine what it's like being away from you kids and grandchildren.  We thought about moving out of California, but I really didn't want to take the kids away from my dad.  He's 85 and it's getting harder for him to travel.  

How nice would it be to be able to fulfill a dream, then go out full-time?  That would just be incredible!  All the best to you and Syndi with this undertaking.

We are relocating, but our boys are still going to be here. The oldest is a Police Detective, but is planning to move to Springfield MO in a few years. Our youngest is planning to move to Springfield this summer. We will be about an hour away. The one thing we will miss the most are three Grandsons and I mean MISS them.

We are from Springfield, so it will be almost a homecoming for us. But for now it's Syndi and I. Hopefully in 4 to 5 years we can sale this and be full timers.

There are some beautiful campgrounds on Roaring river and Table Rock lake about 15 miles away.

Lon, I would love to do a long trip and come out that way.  My husband and I have talked about it, but thought we'd wait until the kids got a little bigger.  They're 2 & 4 right now.  I will definitely add it to my list of places to go.  No major renovations and you don't have to worry about hiring, what a blessing.  How great it is that you are able to fulfill a dream. 

Will you be relocating?  Do you have any plans for your family to help run the resort or will it be you and your wife running the show?

Laurene,I'm glad you looked it up, maybe you'll come and see me. The resort is in real good shape and the maids are giving it a deep cleaning, but the campground needs a little tlc. Just some tree trimming will help a lot. It's just outside Roaring River State Trout Park, so March 1st (when trout season starts) it will be all hands on deck until Oct 31st.

Wow!  Sound great!  I'm so happy for you and your wife!  It looks like a nice place.  I like the campground and resort theme, many seem to be family friendly.  Are you going to be doing a lot of renovations?  I guess regardless, you have a lot on your plate.  I hope for only the best for you and your wife in this endeavor.

I have to make the wife happy, so it's going to be match the RV. It's going to take longer than I thought to get her fixed up. We have bought a Resort (22 rooms) with a 44 site RV park. It's named Roaring River Resort in Cassville MO. It's been a dream of ours since we were married 29 years ago to own an RV park. Lot of clean up after the winter,so the camper has to wait....wish us luck.

I've just purchased this 1970 13' Playmor. We are planning to replace flooring, cushions, paneling and repainting the outside. It's really in pretty good shape and doesn't show a lot of signs of leaking. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions once I get into the restoration.
