You campers in Texas have to get together to plan it. I am not familiar enough with Texas campgrounds to do so. (Although I lived in Midland and Houston some years back and loved it :) Throw out some suggestions, but try to keep the location somewhat central if possible. You might also want to divide into two groups, 'cause as we all know, Texas is big!!!

Good idea for campout. Just took firat trip in motor home I bought .Love it!!!
Good place for campout in Texas would be at Inks Lake.Central location and nice campground with nice boating and fishing

Inks Lake is about 60 miles west of Austin

Inks lake sounds cool -- if no one has a better idea, now you just need to decide on a date. Give everyone plenty of time, a couple of months if possible.

a few months is good...maybe when it is not 110 outside....or is that just in Midland right now???!!!! Just kidding we love camping even in the heat!

Glad you like Inks Lake for campout
I think the best time would be in August
just before school starts again.
Give parents a last trip and give kids a
last outing before school.
I dont have kids but know how it is

Is this lake going to be real hot in August though? Someplace cool would be best. I know how hot Midland can get 'cause I used to live there!

If any one finds a cool place in Texas in August. Please let me know about it. LOL.
Inks Lake state park is a wonderful park. Lots of great places to swim if you get to hot.
But it is a very popular park. It might already be booked for the summer.
