What are some of the out of the way, remote places you like to camp. I like the grasslands, north remote area of mineral wells s.p. and some of the back sides of lakes.

Colorado Bend State Park, when the Bass are running
Hello, I would recommend if you are into hiking you try the 4 c Trail in the Davy Crockett National Forest,, very pretty and fairly easy to hike but it is a 20 mile trail. I would also recommend the Neches Bluff Camp Ground in the Davy Crockett National Forest,, very primitive... no water.. no electric.. dirt roads.. lots of deer and turkey.

I would avoid this area from Oct 1 thru Nov 30, as the Hunters are frequent.. if you are a hunter then the Boggy Slough is a great place to Hike in and Hunt..
inks lake has great hiking, but the park can get crowded. Ditto on Colorado Bend, but next door at barefoot fishing camp is a great place if you like sitting around and just do some paddeling and swimming away from folks
