Heat...When camping during the dog days of summer it is important to monitor yourself when it is hot.  Heat plus humidity can spell danger for anyone, and especially for solo campers.  If you are camping with friends monitor one another.  If you are solo camping monitor yourself closely and find a place to cool off.  Drinking plenty of fluids (mostly water) can help, but to stay safe it is good to know the signs of heat exhaustion as to avoid any disasters.  This past weekend I was solo camping and the temperature was in the mid 90’s plus humidity making it well over 100 degrees.  Thanks to my training in the army regarding heat injuries I could tell the heat was really getting to me.  So, not having any place to cool off, and be alone I broke camp one day early.  Better to be safe than sorry.  Play it safe this summer and stay alert to heat induced fatigue

Thanks, WildernessWillie! Very good advice not only for those who would camp in this weather, but for anyone involved in outdoor activities now. Thanks again.
