Husband and I are hoping to make a trip to Alaska this summer and would appreciate hearing from RV'ers who have researched this trip, been there, etc. 

We had RV'ed and camped for many years before retiring and now we travel coast to coast (winters in CA, summers in Maine) every year.  Hope to give up the big 5th wheel and truck for something with better fuel economy and more flexibility (perhaps tow behing our Jeep Grand Cherokee) for the trip.  Any suggestions anyone?
