The only backpacking I've done is back East and twice in California in the Golden Trout Wilderness - but no PCT, unfortunately.  With a knee replacement and back surgery, I'm not sure I could do much of the PCT in any kind of decent time, if at all.  Maybe with 3 months rest every 10 miles lol.

Hi Brenda!

I have been on the PCT in many places... Many other state and federal forest trails criscross the PCT in the Sierra's alone~ Granite Chief, Desolation Valley are wilderness areas in the Tahoe and Eldorado national forest the PCT travels Through... I really love the access up on Donner Summitt Off Interstate 80, takes You north past Castle Peak up and over into the Henness Pass area... Not to far from Mount lola- it continues up to the Sierra Buttes! All these fine places can be "Googled"

I will find and post info on Josh Myers and his photos and post it here for everyone in the next day or soo... I will also E-mail josh Directly and encourage him to join us here on "Campers-Index"

If You go to My Profile page- look at My photos of "Old Man Mountain" and "Castle Peak"  This will give You an Idea of the beautifull High Alpine granite You'll be hiking through!

Peacefull Trails Always~   Christopher Hammond- The "CanyonBratt"

Christopher,

Many people do a through hike on the PCT, and it is my dream to do the same.  I'm in the process of beginning to train for just this.  It's the perfect timing take on such an adventure; however, my husband and I are licensed foster care parents and we have been requested to take two little girls this coming spring.  Our own two are just about grown, and we'll be starting all over.  So, we'll see if this dream transpires at all.  But, at least the training is good for more than the PCT, lol.  Have you hiked any of the PCT around your area?  And, did Myers publish his photos in a book at all?  Would love to get a hold of a copy if he did.
