Greetings from Charlotte! I have been a member of Camper-share since 2009, but honestly I had forgotten it existed until a notice popped up in my email. I found this group and hopefully will get the chance to learn more about the area and some great camping spots to discover.
I am also a member of a meet up group called Carolina Campers who camp together at least once a month around the Carolinas. If you are interested in joining us on an outing, let me know. Our next planned trip is July 15-17 to
Twin Rivers Family Campground in Crumpler, NC.

Spent the weekend at Cane Creek, in Waxhaw. It is good if you are RV camping but not tent camping friendly. Sites small, cramped and uneven. Only flat area was the rock driveway, which is where we ended up pitching our tent.
Again, KOA at Rodanthe, NC is right on the beach and some sites are right on the berm to the beach!... and across the street is a great restaurant for breakfast!
Hello everyone, we are new to this group. We are full time RVers residing in Surry County, North Carolna. It's a great life, we like it very much. We've had our 5th wheel down in Palm Beach County, Florida, and recently up in WIlkes County, North Carolina. We are always eager to hear of great camping spots.
Looking for a good spot to spend a few days somewhere near Banner Elk in early August. I like nice, quiet camps, with plenty of space, trees, etc. between the spots. Really do not like campgrounds that "pack 'em in" like sardines to make more money with less nature enjoyment for the campers.
We had a great July 4th weekend in Western NC. The weather was just perfect. Camped near Balsam, NC at Moonshine Creek campground. It is small and the sites are tight, but the strean running through the middle makes for great sleeping. If anyone has tried any other spots in this area, please let me know. I would like to have more of a mountain view.
Sounds very interesting - will have to check that out.

just got back from a daniel vitalis retreat in sparta nc on family land and it was the best weekend ever! learned about wild water and food and the connections of us into the environment. he has lots of utube info out there that is priceless.
The Tech Blanket from Thermarest is a great piece of gear when it comes to hammock camping. The system was meant for the ground but it works great in a hammo...
