We (John, my husband, and I) are both native Nevadans and have camped all over the state while growing up. There are really some great spots to camp! Living in the Reno/Sparks area, there are lots of areas around northern Nevada and northern California that are wonderful! Last year, we discovered Lassen Volcano National Park. We had our Cub Scouts doing their 3-mile hike and a group campout, there, and it was just perfect! MY biggest concern when looking at campgrounds is a flushing toilet - I'll do an outhouse only if I have to! Or, if we're out really going natural, I do okay if we can set up our own little privy with a camp toilet. Our biggest challenge, now, is finding a place where we can take our 15 month old chocolate lab!
