Yes it is!  I don't know if you've tried to get reservations for Yosemite, but it's next to impossible to get a site in the valley, and for the summer it's pure luck or good timing if you do get one.  Hopefully, this will help deter the scalpers.

Because of the "scalping" of Yosemite camping sites, Yosemite NP has made some changes to their reservation system.  The changes are posted on their website.

Called Xanterra to ask some questions about camping in Yellowstone and found out they started taking reservations for the 2012 summer camping season yesterday.  So, I now have reservations to spend 3 weeks in Yellowstone, Grand Tetons and Jackson Hole:)  This will be the furthest we've traveled from home (CA) with the kids.  We're looking forward to the adventure!

I'm wanting to go to a National Park outside of Texas, on a motorcycle. I will only have a 3-4 day weekend to do it in, any suggestions?

Just an FYI, Yosemite has sites available for May 1-5, 2011, in Upper Pines.  Apparently, they cancelled some road work they were going to do in the campground.
