Linda, You may want to check out Sleepy Hollow by Lainsburg/ovid. Its a state park, wooded with lots of trails, great pan fishing, no so great for swimming tho. The lots on one side are pretty much surrounded by shrubs so you dont see your neighbor but the other side of the park is more open but starting to grow trees and shrubs around each site. In general its a quiet park with great hosts.
that is great linda and i hope it did make it thru the snow we are really enjoying being here the fires at nite sounds of nature. it is great! Hope everyone enjoys this camping season.

HaHa, my camping stuff is all stored in boxed containers, won't take me long to throw it all back in the camper.
I know where Goveland Oaks is. A little to open and crowded for me. and too close to home. Gotta feel like I went somewhere and I'm really looking forward to some quiet camping. Yankee Springs does look nice, but looks crowded. We may end up back in Newaygo, hardly anyone goes there and is empty during the week. We don't even see a Ranger all week when we go there. But, going there depends on my husband driving over there, lol.

We are still deciding where were going this year. It'll be close to home I'm afraid again this year. Anyone know of a good place, a State Park around the Lansing area that is nice? Some little wooded hideaway?
The Tech Blanket from Thermarest is a great piece of gear when it comes to hammock camping. The system was meant for the ground but it works great in a hammo...
