Has anyone been to the hot springs in Kern Canyon, CA?  I'm not sure how to get there or where they are.

Thanks Jon, not one of them sounds familiar so it will be fun doing some homework on them.

STOP -- Don't go past here until you learn about a site I just found today called Find a Spring at http://www.findaspring.com. Maybe you already know about it, but if not, I got excited about it and hope you will too. I always wonder where hot springs are near me, and maybe this will help me and others find hot springs where they are camping.
Also, if you don't find your favorite spring you might want to submit it to the site... or maybe just keep it to yourself lol.

Welcome Cris, that's awesome, I had no idea that there were any in your area. Is there a name for those springs? Are they mentioned any books? Is it a clothing optional spring?

We have a few really good hot springs right here outside of vegas believe it or not! Right below Hoover dam there is a place called Black canyon. It is a 5-6 mile trail from the trailhead to the colorado river. Along the way are several hot springs (pools) that flow right out of the rocks around 90 degrees or so. You can hike down to the sprins or boat in from the colorado river. There is a beach right on the river that you can set camp or just anywhere down in the canyon along the way, Beautiful scenery along the way and down by the river.Best times of the year are march and april and maybe the first part of may. Too hot in the summer 110 degrees plus. Check it out!

Last Chance is north of McCall as you are traveling to New Meadows. Go through Goose crk canyon and as you are exiting the turn off is on the right. Drive up a half mile or so and follow the trail. For the most part everyone stays on trail.

Amen. People not staying on the trails bugs me. I wonder if they don't realize what they are doing or just don't care.
