You might want to ask the people in NJ too... I used to camp a lot in NJ... what area of NJ are you going to go camping in? North, south, east, west, etc?

Thanks alot Jarica! I just stopped by there today (up from NJ, taking a side trip from my friend's house in NY) to check out the campgrounds and I saw what you meant about the steep hill! It was raining so I didn't take the time to check out the bathrooms, which I would normally do, so thanks for the info! : ) Hopefully when I go camping there won't be alot of other people camping! Have you ever been camping at Black Rock SP?

I have been camping at kettletown sp. We were at campsites 39-40 it was up in a loop. The bathrooms were down a very steep hill. The campsites were very close together with not a lot of privacy. If you go on a holiday weekend it will be packed and you will get annoyed by people They allow campers with popups to run generators. They are not very strict with there rules. It could be a good or bad thing. The beach is not within walking distance. There was only one shower in the bathrooms and it had a button that you had to keep hitting every minute to keep the water going. most of the sites at Kettletown were very open not a lot of trees. This is a very hilly state park. I mean a lot of steep hills. The beach is about 2 miles from the check in station which you have to pass to exit the camping part. I hope this helps

Has anyone been camping either at Kettletown SP or Black Rock SP in CT? I'd love to read your review!

Hi, I haven't been camping in CT yet, but am looking for a campground around the New Haven area. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the invite. I was looking for CT's page. Can't wait for more members to join.

Thermarest Tech Blanket, Good for Hammock Camping???

The Tech Blanket from Thermarest is a great piece of gear when it comes to hammock camping. The system was meant for the ground but it works great in a hammo...
