Needing modern camping close to Malibu, California this July- preferably on the coast

I am planning to come to Malibu this June .  Looking for recommendations of a camping spot on the coast.

There's Malibu Beach RV Park...

I've never stayed there, but it's the only campground I know of in or near Malibu. It used to be a moblie home park when I was in college, but they've apparently converted into an RV park. It's right across the street from the beach. The only drawback is you have to cross the Pacific Coast Hwy to get there.

Been there and it's a once in a life time place to camp, because its expensive for me it was $58 a night.  But the view is fantastic and I am glad I went and think I have posted pics here from that trip.  You must make reservations, but again for a one time weekend it's worth it.

Not sure what you mean by modern but Leo Carrillo is a good place.  It's a few miles north of Malibu just off of PCH.  The campground is in the canyon across the highway from the ocean but there is a walkway that goes under the highway.  I have camped there many times and it's always good!
