After 25 years as an Air Force Wife, we are now retired and settled in New Mexico.  It's my turn now.....check out the event here on campersindex for Americas Favorite Trail Horse and mark your calendars. While my husband stayed home I got to go "TDY" and took Zeema camping to TX for the filming of this show.  Sept 20th you can watch for Zeema, a Lipizzaner cross who's breed history includes orders from Gen. Patton to initiate Operation Cowboy in WWII to save the Lipizzaners from destruction. Cheers, Theresa and Zeema

Camping season is in full swing! We have been using Bureau of Land Management campsites. The are a bit "rougher", can be smaller in size but the price is fair. If you are disabled vet you can apply for a federal access pass that will either allow you to camp for free or a reduced rate. Google BLM or Bureau of Land Management.

I recently read a book called Ranger! or something like that which is a book of stories about what a Ranger encounters. Very very funny! I'm sure you could relate and would really enjoy it esp. since you're a campground host now.

That should be so cool, being a camp host. Hopefully you won't have too many people who don't know how to camp. (You know the type.)

hi there, glad to find this group. retired Navy after 23 years in 1988. served 18 of the 23 at sea first on diesel submarines and then on surface ships mostly amphibs. came up through the ranks from e1-e7 then became a commisioned officer. loved it and would go back tomorrow if they ever decide to take an old man.

I wanted to let everyone in Oklahoma at all the Golden Correl's & Apple Bee , Resterant's are giving free Dinner's to all Veteran's & there Wives Dinner for Veteran Day. You might call the ones in your city or state & check to see what day or time they are doing there's. And I want to thank all of you Men ,Women & your family's that served in Service. I just took my Husband that served in Vietnam to Washing D.C. I am so glad we went their. It was really sad to see all the people that had lost there lives for our Country. And plus we live here in Oklahoma City close to the Bombing. My Husband & I knew alot of people that got hurt or killed in it. In fact our Son was almost in the building. But he decided to go by their after he got off work. He worked a couple building's down. He helped alot of people out. I think God he wasn't in it. But I think God he was there to help other's. It was very hard on him thou. It so sad to see how some people act in our Country. I don't no why everyone can't learn to love one another no matter what color our skin is, or if your old, young, fat skinny smart or whatever. God made us all . We need to learn to love our freedom that all these wonderful Men & woman fought for & some died for. And I'm so sorry for all the family's that had lost there loved one's. God Bliss all of you. And all is in my prayer's. We also need to remember there is also alot of good people in this world also. I love all people. ((((((((God Bliss American)))))))

The Tech Blanket from Thermarest is a great piece of gear when it comes to hammock camping. The system was meant for the ground but it works great in a hammo...
