Comment by Laurene on December 29, 2011 at 1:31pm: I love it! I've seen them in Monterey Bay as well as off the coast from Bodega Bay. (You don't necessarily need to be on a boat to whale watch, although you probably get more up close and personal that way:) ) Plus, in Ft. Bragg you get to do some beer tasting or in Mendocino, wine tasting and there are some great state parks you can stay at in the area!
